All the latest news and transfer rumours surround Leeds United as they prepare to take on West Brom.
Leeds United dropped points in the automatic promotion chase on Boxing Day after losing away to Preston North End. Daniel Farke’s men failed to build on their 4-0 success over Ipswich Town at Elland Road before Christmas, and the Tractor Boys regained a point with a draw against Leicester City.
Following Southampton’s 5-0 home win over Swansea City, the Whites have slid to fourth position, and attention now turns to a difficult away match against play-off rivals West Brom. Meanwhile, we’ve compiled a list of all the latest Elland Road news and transfer rumours.
Roca’s ‘talks’
Hide Ad Leeds are thought to be in talks to sign midfielder Marc Roca on a permanent deal, despite interest from Real Betis, his loan club. The Spanish club is thought to want to make the loan agreement permanent, and Roca may also want to stay in his home country.
According to Football Insider, negotiations between Leeds and Betis over a permanent transfer are already beginning, with the Whites potentially welcoming a cash injection to help bankroll their winter recruitment.
Number ten dials
Dean Jones, a transfer insider, has given his opinion on whether Leeds might recruit a new number 10 during the winter transfer window. “I can understand why Leeds fans might want a No. 10,” he told GiveMeSport. However, I believe it is a luxury that many clubs in the Championship would appreciate.
“I think you have to make sure you’re covered in depth across the field when it comes to injuries before you worry too much about a situation like that.” I still believe Leeds has enough inventiveness to overcome this. However, it appears to be an increasing craving at the present. So, if things continue to deteriorate marginally in January, I can see a temptation to do something like that.”
