An email sent to Manchester United staff by the Glazers has been leaked online following confirmation of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival at the club.

Weeks of nervous waiting were brought to a close on Christmas Eve when Ratcliffe’s acquisition of a 25% stake in the club was confirmed. The deal is now waiting to be formally ratified by the Premier League, a process that could take up to a month.

Shortly after United’s dramatic 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Boxing Day, Joel and Avram Glazer confirmed to staff members that a deal had been agreed with Ratcliffe. They also confirmed that the INEOS billionaire would take full control of all football operations at the club, as had been speculated for some time.

The email read: “This deal will help unlock more of the potential that you have helped build in this great club. As part of the partnership, the board has asked INEOS, with their agreement, to have oversight and responsibility for the club’s football operations.

“This will include all aspects of the men’s and women’s football operations and their academies, with the aim of delivering a world-class, high-performance environment supporting success on the pitch.”

How long will the Glazers remain in charge of Manchester United? Let us know in the comments section below.

The letter also included a warning to staff, telling them they weren’t allowed to make any public comments about the minority takeover on their social media accounts. The American owners also outlined their aspirations to help the club return to the top of “English, European, and world football.”.
