Miami Heat Tarde Rumors as We Approach the Deadline
The 2024 NBA Trade Deadline is just days away. The Miami Heat have already made one acquisition, trading for guard Terry Rozier on January 23rd. However, the team’s recent 7-game losing skid demonstrated that they still require additional assistance. They never acquired the star they needed following their journey to the Finals last season. They need another component, perhaps two, depending on who it is. According to reports, “no one knows what the hell Miami is going to do.” You never know what to expect with Pat Riley in charge.
As the deadline approaches, here are a few Miami Heat trade rumors. Some players have been involved in Heat speculations, while others
Miami Heat Trade Rumors as We Approach the Deadline
P. J. Tucker
On Saturday, Clippers forward P.J. Tucker shared a photo of an interstate exit to Miami Beach on his Instagram story, labeled “home sweet home.” Many people have taken Tucker’s statement as indicating that a trade to the Heat is on the way, or that he wants one. Tucker has already expressed dissatisfaction with his employment in Los Angeles. If he wishes to return to Miami, where he played in 71 games (beginning in 1970) for the Heat, who had the best record in the East and advanced to the Conference Finals, both sides would welcome him.
Another potential Heat reunion is with Kelly Olynyk. He’s perfect. He can shoot, pass, and is tall. They need another huge one. He was quite prolific during his previous 3.5-year stay in South Beach. He will be highly sought after in the trade market, with numerous teams reportedly interested in him. As a backup for an expired contract, the asking price should be reasonable. Olynyk has previously spent time with the team, so the Miami connection is strong.
Donovan Mitchell
I need to bring this up. Donovan Mitchell has been connected to the Heat in trade speculations several times over the last few years. We know the Heat like him and have expressed interest in him. The problem is that, according to various sources, the Cavaliers are “planning to ride it out this season” with Mitchell on the roster. Things may change in an instant in the NBA, so it is not impossible, especially if a good enough offer is presented.
Dorian Finney-Smith
The Heat need additional size, and Dorian Finney-Smith would provide it. He has been a consistent player throughout his career. A good 3-and-D player could greatly strengthen this.
