After Billy Glasscock leaves, Steve Sarkisian promotes four support staff members.

In a newly formed role, Brandon Harris becomes Sarkisian’s General Manager.

The Texas Longhorns head coach, Steve Sarkisian, promoted four members of his support staff after Director of Player Personnel Billy Glasscock left to become General Manager for Lane Kiffin at the Ole Miss Rebels last week, the school said on Tuesday.

Brandon Harris’s ascension to the recently established position of General Manager is the main story. Known as a rising star in the recruiting world, Harris served as the Forty Acres’ director of recruiting for almost three years after taking over the position soon after Sarkisian arrived. Harris’s influence was so great that Texas sent him on the recruiting trail when defensive line coach Bo Davis left in January. Harris, a quarterback for LSU and North Carolina, has been at Texas since 2019. He was promoted from his prior position just before he had an interview to become an assistant quarterbacks coach with the Los Angeles Rams.

John Michael Jones, who oversaw a walk-on program that turned out scholarship players including Luke Brockermeyer, Jett Bush, and Michael Taaffe, assumes Glasscock’s former position as Director of Player Personnel.

After moving to Austin three years ago from Vanderbilt, where she held the position of Director of On-Campus Recruiting after serving as a student recruiting assistant while attending Auburn, Taylor Searels has transitioned from Director of Recruiting Operations to Director of Recruiting.

Kyndal Perry, formerly the Coordinator of Recruiting Operations, assumes the position of Director of Recruiting Operations, which Searels held before. Perry, a product of Florida A&M, spent a year as the Director of On-Campus Recruiting before to moving to the Forty Acres.
