Atlanta Falcons Player Re-signing the contract with Atlanta after the board issued a statement
The Falcons are in store for a busy offseason.
Terry Fontenot and Raheem Morris will be expected to contribute to the team in areas of need, such as wide receiver, cornerback, and on the edge, as the draft and free agency draw near.
The search for an improved quarterback will be the first priority for the new general manager and head coach. Since Desmond Ridder is not the plan, an outside source will have to provide the remedy. The Falcons have the draft capital and cap room to pick up a number of different players.
But before all of that, Fontenot, Morris, and his staffs will evaluate the roster as it stands now and as it approaches free agency. So let’s play a quick game of Buy or Sell before that.
Calais Campbell, linebacker
For whatever reason, Campbell matched for the club lead in sacks in his 16th season in the league with 6.5, the most since the 2019 season. Notably, he surpassed the 100-sack mark and will be experimenting with free agency. Campbell was a huge asset both on and off the field, starting all 17 games. If Arthur Smith and Ryan Nielsen had kept their jobs, he was sure to be a strong contender to return on a new contract. Although that is no longer the case, my choice is unaffected.
Bud Dupree and Edge
Dupree and Campbell shared the title of team sack leader. He had his finest season since 2020 after signing a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Falcons. There’s no denying that the Falcons need to address the position.
