A controversial playwright from England made a statement.
Former fly-half for England In a social media post, Danny Cipriani announced his retirement from the game, referring to it as a “freeing moment.”
Cipriani, 36, last played rugby for Bath in the Premiership in 2022, so his decision to retire is not shocking.
The star was always a tremendously gifted person, but since making his professional debut with the Wasps in 2006, his career has been marred by off-field problems, including many falling outs with different coaches.
During his playing career, Cipriani would wear the jerseys of the Melbourne Rebels, Sale Sharks, Gloucester, and the Wasps for two periods.

Despite my temporary semi-retirement. This is my formal declaration,” Cipriani posted on X, the previous Twitter platform.
“I left it open in my mind, but I haven’t played in a while.
“I realized I don’t want to play again when sitting outside Costa and messaging my agency. a sobering but liberating experience.
Over a ten-year period, Cipriani earned 16 caps for the Test stage; in 2018, he played his last international rugby match. He expressed gratitude to everyone who helped shape his career.
Cipriani remarked, “Thank you to all of my coaches; I’ve learned a lot from each of you.”
“Thank you to all of the staff members at every club who consistently exhibit the most diverse personalities; you are frequently the lifeblood of the organization.
“Special memories from all the fans of every team I played at, thank you for demonstrating love throughout my career to the supporters who showed up and put their hearts on their sleeves.
I had a great experience playing with all of my teammates. Although I admit that occasionally I may be abrasive, we did have a good time.
“I’ve learned so much in my career, and looking back, I’m appreciative of every second.”
