In their most recent League Two match, promotion-chasing Stockport County and Swindon Town drew 0-0 away. Even though they had just 31% of the ball at Edgeley Park, they were still able to get a point.
According to League Two standings, the Robins are currently ranked eighteenth. After a difficult season, they have 12 games remaining to salvage a decent finish.
In terms of Tranmere Rovers, they are tied with the teams they will play next. Since taking over in September, Nigel Adkins has managed to keep Prenton Park in the black.
The Whites’ previous game was a 1-0 loss on the road against Forest Green Rovers. At the Eco-Power Stadium, they had twenty shots, but only four of them found the goal.
Here, some of our authors share their forecasts for the game….
Under Gavin Gunning’s direction, both of these squads are at ease in the middle of the table and eager to close off the campaign on a strong note.
“I don’t believe it would take much to keep them apart. Swindon Town’s confidence should be high after their thrilling draw against Stockport County the previous time around. The fact that they hosted the Hatters indicates that they are not exactly on good terms.
“Tranmere dominated possession at Forest Green and should have won, but they were unable to take a chance.” Though it’s difficult to predict, I’m leaning for a close victory at home.
“Anything beyond that looking highly unlikely, both of these sides will be looking to salvage a respectable finish over the final months of this season.”
A home victory seems likely in light of Tranmere’s dismal away performances against Forest Green and Doncaster. Despite going four games without a loss at home before to the MK Dons defeat, Swindon’s record at the County Ground hasn’t been all that remarkable.
“I predict that these two have a close game that ends 1-1.”
