In the hopes that a team hoping to choose a quarterback in the first round would not select the player of their choice, this may force the Bears to hold onto Fields until after the first round of the selection is concluded. If it doesn’t, things might go worse for the Bears.
Teams can now agree on the terms of a deal. Finalization of a contract is contingent upon March 13 at 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
The likelihood that no one will accept it increases with the amount of time the Bears wait.
This may require the Bears to hold onto Fields until after the first round of the pick is over, in the hopes that a team seeking to choose a quarterback in the first round would not select the player of their choosing. If not, the Bears’ situation might become worse.
Now, teams can agree on a deal’s parameters. Contract finalization is subject to agreement by March 13 at 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
