Anthony Gordon had to establish himself as a top talent before Newcastle United could benefit.

It’s fair to argue, too, that after leaving Everton, the £40 million winger did not perform well right away.

His Newcastle tenure began in such a terrible way that he even reacted furiously when he was replaced against Brentford back in April.

Nevertheless, Gordon has not looked back following a fruitful summer vacation that included leading the England U21s to victory in the European Championship for their age group.

The 23-year-old, who is expected to be one of the Premier League’s star players this season, has been a driving force for Newcastle.

Gordon has praised one individual for that quick progress.

Anthony Gordon, a star from Newcastle, praises Eddie Howe
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Gordon lavished praise on Eddie Howe’s leadership.

He actually brought up something he said to Newcastle teammate Matt Ritchie only the other day to interviewer Craig Hope.

Since Matt Ritchie and I talked about it yesterday, this is still fresh in my memory.

“You don’t know what he has done for my life, never mind about football,” I tell people.

“I am doing well right now because of his standards, his manner of treating others, his goodness as a person, his hard work, and his desire to succeed. He has brought me to that level.

“I wasn’t that way when I initially joined. I now act that way outside of football. I’m quite happy he’s in my life.

Anthony Gordon: Eddie Howe presents a star as a great value
Joelinton and Fabian Schar were two players Howe was getting better out of the players he inherited at the team before a signing was made while PIF owned the team.

However, Howe’s coaching career extends beyond the players he worked with before to his arrival. Gordon has improved dramatically despite having a high price tag and an unlucky beginning at St. James’ Park.

That is no small accomplishment, especially considering how difficult the season has been for Newcastle. Almost always available, he’s been outstanding from the first kick of the ball, having scored winners this season against both Manchester United and Arsenal.
