Ayo Dosunmu is eager to achieve greater things after achieving a new career high.
“I never really put a limit on what I can accomplish.”
Shortly after completing a career-high 34-point effort on Saturday night against the Washington Wizards, Chicago Bulls third-year guard Ayo Dosunmu was already anticipating more development of his game as the regular season came to an end.
It was evident how much Dosunmu has improved this season versus Washington. He nailed four three-pointers, scored on explosive drives to the hoop, and found teammates with the correct passes. In addition, he grabbed three rebounds and nine assists. The former Illinois standout looks far from done when you hear him discuss the development of his game.
No boundaries to his abilities
Dosunmu claims he wants to continuously improve, despite the fact that teammates and coaches have given him a lot of praise. Dosunmu is resolved to continually challenging himself, in contrast to several NBA players who achieve success in one season and never return to that level.
Dosunmu said, “You always have room for growth.”
“I honestly never set boundaries for what I can do. As the season progresses, I find myself learning primarily on the fly. I don’t have objectives for where I want to get there. There are ups and downs all the time, so you want to stay steady.
Continue to assault
Dosunmu’s greatest weapon is without a doubt his extraordinary speed. He blows past opponents and moves the ball up the court with it. However, Dosunmu is aware that he needs more than just speed to be successful in the NBA. He knows how important it is to remain in attack mode and keep honing his craft.
Dosunmu clarified, “I always try to be in attack mode.”
That’s how my game has improved. Whether I keep the dribble going, kick out, attack, or attempt to get Vooch a shot, I never play timidly. Be on the offensive at all times. Because they are always on the offensive, they are the most hazardous player to guard. not just to set up, but also to produce. That is a fact.
I make an effort to focus.
Dosunmu is averaging a career-high 11.2 points per game this season, according to his total stats. But there’s more to it than what first glances reveal: Dosunmu has averaging 15.6 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game since January 13. He has shot 43% from outside the arc and 51% from the field. Dosunmu’s workload has increased due to the injuries of important Bulls, but he is shown that he can take it and step up when necessary.
