Following the LSU-Iowa game, Angel Reese shares a private message with Caitlin Clark.
After Iowa Hawkeyes defeated LSU Tigers in the Elite Eight, Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark briefly embraced in the handshake line. As Iowa progressed to the Final Four, Reese shared her message with Clark in her postgame news conference.
“She told me to keep being a great player,” And I advised her to “keep being a great player, keep improving the game, and go win it.” said Reese on April 1.
Reese had a fantastic game against Iowa despite the outcome, recording 17 points, 20 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. For the most part of the match, Reese also continued to play despite an ankle injury. In the 2023 national championship game, LSU defeated Iowa, setting up a meeting between the Hawkeyes and the Tigers.
Reese was hesitant to commit to the upcoming season after the setback. If Reese declares for the 2024 WNBA draft, her odds of being selected in the lottery are high
Additionally, the forward has made it possible for him to return to LSU. In his most recent mock draft, Michael Voepel of ESPN projects that Reese will go to the Minnesota Lynx at selection no. 7.
In a March 12 piece headlined “WNBA mock draft 2024: Clark a lock at No. 1, but who’s next?” Voepel explained, “The Lynx don’t have an obvious hole on their roster, so it’s likely they will look for the best player available.” Although there are numerous doubts regarding Reese’s ability to play at the professional level, the Lynx may benefit from her defensive and rebounding skills. Reese was open about the difficulties she has had since LSU became victorious in 2023. The Tigers star disclosed that throughout the previous year, she had received death threats.

“I simply want to be a strong support system for my colleagues because I don’t want them to think less of me. I simply want them to know that I’m a human being at all times. I mentioned the other day that I haven’t been joyful since winning the national title, and all of this has transpired since then.
Regarding Clark, Iowa plays Connecticut in hopes of securing a berth in the national championship game. Iowa’s Final Four opponent, UConn, is a 2.5-point favorite
