Manager of Barnsley FC Neill Collins addresses accusations that his team is overly cautious and whether Fabio Jalo will be granted a…

In response to criticism from supporters that NEILL COLLINS’s Barnsley side is too conservative, Collins has stated that he respectfully disagrees.

With just two victories in their last eight games, the fifth-place Reds’ dreams of breaking into the top two have been dashed. They take on Reading in their League One fixture on Saturday.

During a pivotal moment in the season, Barnsley’s performance declined; in their past eight games, they have recorded two victories, two draws, and four losses.

The Tykes have played three away games in a row to start April. They defeated Burton Albion 3-1 before losing to Stevenage and Charlton Athletic 2-1.

Adam Phillips gave Barnsley the lead in Tuesday’s match against Stevenage, but goals from Jamie Reid and Dan Butler made sure Barnsley went home empty-handed.

With six points separating them from seventh place, the Tykes are still on track to finish in the top six despite having lost three of their past four games.

Even so, Barnsley will be eager to earn all three points on Saturday, especially considering that they haven’t triumphed at home in four games since defeating Derby County on February 24.

With a 2-0 victory over Bristol Rovers on Tuesday, Reading almost guaranteed their League One survival despite being hindered by a six-point deduction.

At Memorial Stadium, Sam Smith started the score. In the latter moments of the first quarter, Lewis Wing increased Reading’s lead.

In the end, the Royals held tight in the second half to secure their maximum points and only their second clean sheet away from home in League One season.

Having won three, drawn one, and lost one of their last five games, Reading has shown themselves to be a formidable opponent in recent years.

The Royals will be aiming to win the league on the road for the first time this season in addition to avoiding loss this weekend.
