Manchester United’s target for Sheffield United “may” depart during the summer transfer window.
Facundo Pellistri, a winger for Manchester United who was linked to Sheffield United last summer, may be moving this summer.
There were rumors that the Blades were in negotiations to sign Pellistri on a loan, but a transfer to Bramall Lane never happened. Nonetheless, he did wound up temporarily leaving Old Trafford during the January transfer window.
Following his signing by the Spanish team Granada, he has made seven starts in eight La Liga games. Even if he may again play football on a regular basis in Spain, his future is still unclear.
The Daily Mirror claims that since the club’s new owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, wants to cut down on the number of periphery players on the roster, it is becoming more and more probable that his future will not be at Old Trafford.
Pellistri moved to Manchester United in 2020, however throughout the previous four years, the majority of his playing time has been spent outside of England. Before joining Granada, he spent two periods on loan at Alaves.
The 22-year-old’s future is still unknown, although it’s possible that he wants to stay in the top division. Given the likelihood of a return to the Championship, this may possibly undermine Sheffield United’s ambitions of reaching a deal should they want to r
evive their interest.
