Bradford City, a League Two football team, appoints a former Mansfield Town and Wigan Athletic supremo in a footballing overhaul.
David Sharpe, the chief executive of Mansfield Town and a former chairman of Wigan Athletic, has been appointed by Bradford City to the newly formed position of head of football operations.
Last July, he quit from the Stags.
The Nottinghamshire club hired the 32-year-old as director of football in May 2020, and five months later he was made chief executive.
Sharpe was employed by Wigan before. He was appointed to the board in December 2014, and after Dave Whelan resigned in March 2015, he was designated chairman.
In order to improve the football operation of the club, Sharpe will collaborate with manager Graham Alexander, head of recruiting Stephen Gent, and head of academy Mark Litherland.
“I am really happy to be here,” Sharpe remarked. Ryan Sparks and I have been talking, and I found it to be quite appealing.
