Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark’s first WNBA clash will be here After voicing out 3 words message
In Monday’s WNBA draft, the Indiana Fever took Caitlin Clark with the No. 1 overall pick, and the Chicago Sky chose Angel Reese with the No. 7 selection.
That means that Reese and Clark will write the next chapter of their rivalry on Saturday, June 1, when the Fever take on the Sky for a game in Indianapolis.
It was no secret that Indiana would select Clark with the No. 1 overall pick. But Reese’s draft potential was more of an unknown. Four post players came off the board before the Sky chose to scoop up Reese and pair her with Kamilla Cardoso, the former South Carolina center who it took with the third pick.
In college, Reese and Clark crossed paths five times, three while Reese played at Maryland and twice after she transferred to LSU.
Each of their previous two clashes drew a record audience. Nearly 10 million people watched the LSU-Iowa 2023 national championship game, and over 12 million tuned in to see the rematch a year later, when Iowa beat LSU in the Elite Eight.
The Sky will tip off its season May 15 on the road against the Dallas Wings.
