Sheffield United-related Man Utd star talks about his transfer prospects while endorsing the fired former Blade as manager.

When his Old Trafford contract ends this summer, Will Fish, the Manchester United defender who is allegedly being watched by Sheffield United, has said he is unclear of his transfer future. The 21-year-old has worked with former Blade Nick Montomery at Hibernian in Scotland for the past two seasons while on loan.

However, Montgomery’s summertime move to Easter Road has not gone as planned; on Saturday, a late equalizer by Motherwell put an official end to Hibs’ hopes of qualifying for Europe’s top flight. Fish, a powerful and towering center-half who led the Red Devils in their junior division before leaving on loan to play adult football, has also been connected to Middlesbrough and Ipswich Town, whose managers, Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna, have clear ties to Old Trafford.

As the deal’s expiration draws near, Hide Ad McGurnie prioritizes Blades before himself.

When asked what he planned to do after this summer, Fish said, “To be honest, I haven’t really given it much thought.” This season, I was all about working here and giving the club my all. However, given that the team is currently in the bottom six, I feel like I’ve failed. I’ve participated in several such games, yet nobody ever offers anything less than their all. A few things have gone wrong for us, and careless situations like this one at the last minute have cost us.

“I would never attribute it to a lack of training or effort, but that’s football, and it hurts.” For now, I’ve just been thinking about this season. I approach things cautiously, and I have no idea what will transpire throughout the summer. However, I’ve enjoyed every second of representing Hibs. We have to give it our all for the shirt in these last five games, and there have been some amazing moments. I think we do it each week, so we’ll aim to win five games and end the season well.”

Prior to moving to Australia as a player and taking up coaching at Central Coast Mariners, Montgomery made nearly 400 appearances for United during his playing career. However, Fish maintains that he and the rest of the Hibs team are fully in support of the former Blade.

Fish told Football Scotland, “It hasn’t occurred to me or any of the players that the management team can’t succeed at this club because we see it day in and day out.” “They are tactical in their training, in how they think, and in how much work they put into improving us. That is visible to everybody. This season, we’ve had some poor outcomes, but the players are to blame. The management has nothing to do with it.

They have time to make it right. For this club, what would success look like? Obviously, we wanted to finish third, and I think our team this season was capable of doing so. However, the results have not gone our way, and it has not been successful. We want to play in Europe and we want to finish third. In Europe, we’ve had some amazing days and travel days that I will never forget.

The players are only responsible for their failure to reach that goal this year; that is where this team ought to be. That changing room is where everyone will learn. You never want to feel or have days like this when playing football. But in order to appreciate the good times, these periods are necessary.
