The Rangers proved their mettle by defeating the Braves 6-4 after winning their opening five games of the week against the two clubs from the ALCS the previous year. After his historic first couple games of the weekend, Travis D’Arnaud took the day off. Despite Marcell Ozuna’s impressive performance, the Braves were unable to complete the comeback this time.
Yet, it is difficult to find fault with the Braves’ performance throughout that week or with their season’s overall beginning. The Braves have not only defeated some deserving opponents with a record of 14-6 but are also generating the greatest offense in the majors once again. The Braves are 10-2 in the series that Atlanta has played thus far, including all of the teams who competed in the NLCS and ALCS last year. Even more amazing is the fact that this has happened in spite of the Braves’ ailments.
Hopefully, the Braves’ strong play will continue when they play their home schedule this week.

On Monday, Bryce Elder will be brought up to the majors to open games for the Braves. Darius Vines seems like he will be optioned to the minors in the interim. Max Fried on Tuesday and Reynaldo López on Wednesday might follow Elder.

On the 15-day injured list, the Mets placed reliever Brooks Raley.
Due to a knee injury, Brewers pitcher D.L. Hall was put on a 15-day injured list.
Due to a rib ailment, Red Sox slugger Triston Casas was put on the 10-day injured list.
The Astros’ Christian Javier was also placed on the 15-day injured list. Javier’s rotating place will be given to Spencer Arrighetti for further starts.
Vaughn Grissom, a former infielder for Atlanta, is still working toward making his Red Sox debut.
