Ben Osborn, an accomplished utility player, is one of the players slated to hit free agency at the conclusion of the current campaign.
Osborn, who is 29 years old, has played in over 121 games for the Blades, with 57 of those games being in the Premier League. And although Osborn might not be the most visually spectacular player on the field, his priceless adaptability more than makes up for it.
Smoothly switching between roles, he represents flexibility and a high output rate. The former Nottingham Forest mainstay is always prepared to help out wherever the team needs him, whether he is playing left wingback, left winger, central midfielder, or even on the right flank.
Osborn is eager to stay at Bramall Lane for the foreseeable future, and his manager, Chris Wilder, has already expressed in public that he wants to stay at Sheffield United after this season.

Prior to the Burnley game, at his pre-match news conference, Wilder acknowledged:
Certain choices [in contracts] must be carried out. I mentioned Ben Osborn’s option, which we will implement, and we are now working on a few others.
Given the brutality and draining nature of the league, it is always a good idea to have a few adaptable players in the lineup as the Blades prepare for a return to the Championship.
