Sead Haksabanovic is expected to return to Celtic on loan as part of the summer asking price.
Despite being one of the several players moved out on loan from Celtic this season, Sead Haksabanovic hasn’t had the best of seasons.
The winger has been benched or used as a substitute more often after he was unable to establish a steady starting position in the Stoke City lineup.
In his 22 total appearances for the English Championship team, he has just once scored and twice provided an assist.
The 24-year-old still has more than three years remaining on his contract when he joined Celtic in 2022, under Ange Postecoglou’s management.
He is now planning to return to Lennoxtown for the summer, although the Bhoys are rumored to have also offered any interested parties a payment for his departure.
The sum that Celtic demanded of Sead Haksabanovic
According to Swedish publication Fotboll Direkt, Haksabanovic has already made the decision to leave Stoke City, thus Glasgow will be his first summer destination.
But for about 30 million Swedish Krona, or about £2.2 million using today’s conversion rate, Celtic are reportedly prepared to let him go.
It remains to be seen if a bidder would be ready to pay that following some lackluster performances, but the Bhoys are renowned for being strong negotiators.
Haksabanovic’s future at Celtic seems unlikely
If the Montenegro international joined Celtic again and contributed to the team under current manager Brendan Rodgers, it would be shocking.
Though he didn’t get much of a look in the first few weeks of the season, the Bhoys management gave him a thorough examination last summer. He was obviously not part of Rodgers’ intentions.
If a permanent transfer doesn’t work out, I don’t believe many people are expecting Haksabanovic to play a significant part next term either, thus another loan swap is probably in store.
