NEWS FROM LATE STAGES
Brendan Rodgers’ statement was verified by Celtic as the departure of another important player.

Sead Hakšabanović’s Celtic is reportedly going to seek a substantial transfer price. This season, the Montenegrin international has been sent out on loan to Stoke City in the English Championship after Brendan Rodgers threw in the towel due to his resentment at not being included in the starting lineup.

We could have done more with Sead’s availability throughout this campaign, as our squad depth was put to the ultimate test. His social media outburst was a foolish move on his part. It appears that he won’t get another chance at Celtic Park, and many would likely be correct to argue that the winger won’t be a huge loss to the squad going forward.

But it looks like the Celtic heirarchy will charge £2.2 million to anyone looking to hire the unwanted wide receiver. Despite the attacker hardly lighting up the stadium for the Potters, Stoke City does not want to extend his spectacular trip down south. However, that needs to be taken into consideration given his injuries and the resulting lack of continuity.

The player will reportedly return north of the border during the summer transfer window and then be made available for sale for the aforementioned fee, according to sources from Sweden, where the former Rubin Kazan star played some of his greatest games with Norrkoping. A squad member who is obviously not on the manager’s good graces would fetch a respectable amount, and that would help with the rebuilding efforts.
