Check out: Why are fans infatuated with Stetson Bennett’s Statement?

Stetson Bennett is maybe the first quarterback who can safely state that he needed to win two national championships to gain respect. Bennett appears to be more than simply living on reputation now that he is in his second year in the NFL, despite the fact that he is still considered a rookie. He thrives on the mystery of being a selected quarterback who may still have a future with the Los Angeles Rams, as both Sean McVay and Les Snead had expressed enthusiasm for his return before the team decided to choose no quarterbacks in 2024.

Or he might easily make as many game-day rosters as Eric Crouch did.

Regardless of Bennett’s history or future, his current status indicates that Rams fans are still fascinated with the former Georgia walk-on who helped the Bulldogs win the national title in both 2021 and 2022. Whenever we write a new story on Stetson Bennett here at Turf Show Times, whether the news is small or large (because there hasn’t been a “big” Bennett story since he was placed on the NFI list last season), thousands of fans gather on the website to read the latest updates.Stetson Bennett is maybe the first quarterback who can safely state that he needed to win two national championships to gain respect. Georgia's Stetson Bennett Joined Two Other Quarterbacks In Unique National Championship Accomplishment

Regardless of Bennett’s history or future, his current status indicates that Rams fans are still fascinated with the former Georgia walk-on who helped the Bulldogs win the national title in both 2021 and 2022. More than the number of page views we might expect from a piece on starter quarterback Matthew Stafford or new backup Jimmy Garropolo. More than Sean McVay or Les Snead would receive in most pieces that do not mention Stetson Bennett.

So, what’s up, Rams fans? Why do you adore Stetson Bennett so much?

Reasons fans could be obsessed with Bennett
He is a quarterback.

Quarterbacks dominate the sport and receive the greatest attention from the media and fans. Mock drafts concentrate their headlines on how many quarterbacks are selected in the first round. ESPN, PFF, and all other sources will monitor quarterbacks’ growth following the draft more than any other position combined. The Falcons’ decision to take Michael Penix sparked ten times more interest than if a team had selected any other top-10 player who was blocked at his position.

He’s a national champion twice.
Bennett didn’t make as many headlines in college as Tim Tebow, Johnny Manziel, or Cam Newton, but he did win two national titles. Football fans seldom question that Bennett won those championships because to Georgia’s defense, but he was still on the largest college football stage in back-to-back seasons. It doesn’t matter if he’s the first selection like Cam or a fourth-round pick like himself; he’ll have college football fans following him throughout his career and after it’s finished.

He’s mysterious.
What happened to Stetson Bennett in 2023? We still don’t know the entire story. Bennett entered the 2023 draft with some concerns about his reputation, but a backup role was almost offered to him as long as he did not squander his opportunity. What other option do we have but to think Bennett lost concentration last season, given all of the facts and the Rams’ lack of transparency? He was placed on the Non-Football Injury list with no explanation as to why, but he is currently back with the club for summer meetings and exercises. Bennett has already lost his backup position to Garoppolo, but the club still needs him to step up with Garoppolo sidelined for two games.

Waiting for ANY significant news explaining his absence and where he’s gone might potentially increase interest in Bennett-related updates and articles.

One thing I know is that Stetson Bennett’s NFL performance is not what is attracting people to him. He hasn’t had any, and his preseason outings in 2023 were awful enough to make you believe that naysayers are correct about his stature and arm strength holding him back from becoming a pro quarterback, as well as decision making, which may have been his worst flaw in the 2023 preseason.

Fans still enjoy Stetson Bennett news regardless of how he performs, and like with other quarterbacks, he will be given more credit than he deserves because he is a quarterback. If you believe in Bennett, the team is bad. If you don’t believe in Bennett, he must be performing terribly. That is fandom.

And fans appears to be driving up Stetson Bennett’s stock even when he isn’t around.
