Rams sign former Eagles backup running back Boston Scott to a one-year contract.

Thousand Oaks, California — Boston Scott, a veteran running back, signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday.
Scott played the most of the previous six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, running for 1,295 yards and 16 touchdowns while collecting 71 receptions for 566 yards and another score. He appeared in 75 games, starting 12.

Scott, 29, is most known for often having huge games against the New York Giants, scoring 10 of his 17 career touchdowns versus the Eagles’ NFC East opponents. He’s ran for 422 yards and nine touchdowns, while also catching 222 yards and another score.

Eagles bring back Boston Scott on a one-year deal

Scott will battle for a backup spot with the Rams, who return with second-leading NFL rusher Kyren Williams as their primary ball carrier. Los Angeles selected former Michigan standout Blake Corum in the third round last week, joining returning backups Zach Evans and Ronnie Rivers.

Royce Freeman, the Rams’ second-leading rusher last season (319 yards), has signed with Dallas.
