Sheffield Wednesday will explore a transfer for Premier League prodigy this summer.

Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper James Beadle this summer.
As it stands, Pierce Charles and Jack Hall will be the only professional goalkeepers on Wednesday’s roster come July 1st…

The goalkeeping department is in serious need of repair this summer, and following his impressive performance in their amazing escape, it’s not surprising that Beadle’s name has been mentioned.

After joining in the January transfer window, the 19-year-old England youth international swiftly established himself as one of the first names on Danny Röhl’s teamsheet, and with a familiar face – Sal Bibbo – as his coach, he settled in at Middlewood Road with ease.

In the end, Beadle’s stay at Wednesday ended with an outstanding eight clean sheets in 19 Championship games, and if you exclude the stoppers who made only a few appearances, only Illan Meslier (44.2%) had a greater clean sheet percentage than the on-loan Owl (42.1%)

The Star knows that there is a desire to bring the Seagulls teenager back to Hillsborough for the 2024/25 season, and with Röhl and Bibbo on their side, it’s believed that they can persuade the Premier League club that another season in South Yorkshire is the best option.

Beadle has worked his way up the divisions in recent years, playing in League Two, League One, and the Championship, but after a relegation battle with Wednesday last season, he will be looking for another step up, which the Owls could provide if their offseason goes as planned.

This publication has already reported that the club is eager to try and bring Ian Poveda and Iké Ugbo back on a permanent basis after their successful spells in 2024, but with Beadle, Brighton is unlikely to be willing to part with him, especially for the money the Owls are likely to be working with.

The Wednesday manager is now abroad with his family, taking a well-deserved rest after a spectacular season, but work continues behind the scenes as the team prepares to hit the ground running in the forthcoming season.
