Sheffield Wednesday issued a lifetime ban following a rule violation against West Brom.

Sheffield Wednesday been imposed a lifetime ban and two 10-year suspensions for violating EFL regulations during their game against West Bromwich Albion.
The Owls defeated the Baggies 3-0 in their penultimate home game of the season, taking a huge step towards Championship safety. However, Wednesday revealed that EFL regulations were broken by fans on the day.

The club has taken action, issuing fines in what they call a “clear message” that violations will not be accepted.

A statement published by Wednesday read: “Sheffield Wednesday can announce that one lifetime ban and two 10-year bans have been imposed to people who significantly violated EFL Ground Regulations during our last home game of the season against West Brom on Saturday, April 27.

“These sanctions send a clear message to everyone who attends Hillsborough for future games that such violations will not be tolerated.” As a community-focused football club, we have a continued obligation to ensure that fans, and anybody claiming to be supporters, behave in an orderly manner at all times while attending any Hillsborough events.
