Auburn’s basketball team has been particularly active in the transfer portal this summer. Head coach Bruce Pearl has been striving to rebuild his squad ahead of the 2024-25 season, with the transfers of Aden Holloway, Tre Donaldson, and KD Johnson, as well as the exits of Lior Berman and Jaylin Williams.

The Tigers will welcome incoming freshmen Tahaad Pettiford and Jahki Howard this fall, and they have already welcomed two transfers from the portal, JP Pegues and Ja’Heim Hudson. According to Pearl, the Tigers are still seeking one more transfer.

“I think that’s the last piece — one more impactful guard,” Pearl told Auburn Rivals. “We need one more man who can compete. It doesn’t matter to me what position it is, whether it’s a 1/2, a 2/1, a 2/3, or a 3/2. But there will be one more guard.

Former Auburn football player Chris Davis sealed his place in Auburn history by running the ball 109 yards in the 2013 Iron Bowl, also known as The Kick Six. Alabama’s field goal attempt fell short, and Davis carried the ball all the way to the Auburn endzone as the clock expired, giving the Tigers a 34-28 victory against the Tide.

Earlier this week, the Auburn football team gave an offer to Davis’ son, Chris ‘CJ’ Davis, a running back in the 2028 recruiting class. This September, he will start his freshman year at Hewett-Trussville in Alabama. The younger Davis was first offered by former Auburn football coach Gus Malzahn and UCF, and he has also received offers from Florida State and Arkansas.
