Stanley Nwabali, a goalkeeper for Nigeria, has been linked to QPR and has lately expressed a strong desire to leave Chippa United.
After their thrilling Championship survival story, QPR will undoubtedly be looking to acquire some new players this summer.
Under the direction of Marti Cifuentes, who orchestrated the R’s 2023–2024 campaign escape from the relegation zone, this will be their first summer transfer window.
Goalie Stanley Nwabali is one player who is allegedly on Loftus Road’s radar; targets will already be in mind. Back in March, Fabrizio Romano stated that QPR was one of the admirers.
The 27-year-old has not raised any concerns about his position on a possible exit as of now.
The Nigerian international, whose comments were cited by FarPost, emphasized his wish to move on from Chippa United and said that any player in his situation who had attention from larger teams “would love to leave.”
He declared:
Like everyone else in my situation, I want to develop farther. Since I have been giving my club my all this season, I am speaking of clubs that are higher up.
Considering fresh pastures
Nwabali appears to have made his transfer attitude clear in his remarks, which will inspire those who are interested. Not only does Romano have fans in QPR, but reports from Romano suggest he also has attention from Saudi Arabia.
Nobody will hold it against him if he adopts this stance. Nwabali, who was born in Lagos, has played his whole career in his home country of Nigeria. He has been with South African team Chippa United since 2022.
This season, in 29 games across all competitions, he has maintained 12 clean sheets and made 11 appearances for his country.
Nwabali, who is 27 years old, could not have many more chances to travel to Saudi Arabia or make a significant move to England with QPR.
The R’s position as goalie
This summer, QPR will probably be looking to replace their starting goalie.
Asmir Begovic’s exit from the West London team is now pending confirmation, but as his contract is up, he will be going.
Jordan Archer’s departure leaves Joe Walsh as the lone player signed for the next season. It may thus be necessary for the R’s to bring in two shot-stoppers.
Nwabali is undoubtedly eager to leave his present team, but whether he ends up at QPR remains to be seen.
