Before the transfer window opens, Celtic may be able to make a move to acquire one of their targets.
Celtic-related Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher has stated that he hopes to be ranked #1 someplace come next season.
The 25-year-old Republic of Ireland international wants to play on a regular basis with the first squad in order to improve his development.
Given that his contract at Anfield runs until 2026, the Reds are not under any immediate rush to offload him permanently. He has, however, stated that he would want to play each week rather than remain a substitute.
Kelleher filled in for Alisson Becker in goal for Liverpool during his injured absence during the previous season, and he performed admirably.
He reportedly stated, “It was the first time in my career that I’d had a spell like that and I loved it,” according to a story by The Athletic. I got along great with it. I had been anticipating just such an occasion. Being number one for Liverpool for such a long time was an incredible chance for me.
It was my chance to demonstrate my abilities at the level that I think I can play and that the club’s patrons feel I can play at. I shown that I am capable of playing in the Premier League and that I feel at home there. That self-belief has always been a part of me. It felt good to prove it to others.”

I have an amazing relationship with the players and staff, and I adore the club and its supporters. My goal is to become a No. 1 player, whether it is here at Liverpool or someplace else.
With Joe Hart’s retirement, Celtic will need a new goalkeeper for the upcoming season. Kelleher would be a good match for Brendan Rodgers’ team.
Originating from Cork, he began his playing career at Ringmahon Rangers before relocating to England in 2015.
Before making his debut appearance in the first squad, he was a regular for the Premier League team at many different youth levels, having been signed by Liverpool in 2015.
Kelleher has managed to make 47 appearances over the last five seasons while serving as the Reds’ backup in recent years.
He demonstrated his safety as a set of hands by playing 26 games last term, 10 of which were in the league during Jurgen Klopp’s last year.
But while Alisson is still at Liverpool, he has little chance of being the team’s first pick, and his most recent remarks suggest that he could have to depart for the sake of his career.
He would be able to play in Europe and contend for titles with Celtic’s regular minutes and platform.
