Charles Sagoe Jr., an attacker for Arsenal who is 19 years old, will be joining Charlton on loan.
The gifted young player needed more playing time to advance in his career. He made his first team debut for Mikel Arteta’s club during the 1-0 victory against Brentford in the Carabao Cup third round last season.
Sagoe Jr. played in the Championship on loan for Swansea City during the second part of the 2023–24 season.
Sagoe Jr. was also benched by Arteta for Champions League games and the Premier League in November of last year.
Sagoe Jr. made 16 appearances for Arsenal’s academy sides in Premier League 2, UEFA Youth League, and the EFL Trophy, scoring three goals and dishing out 10 assists, according to the Gooner’s career chart.
The gifted teenager failed to get into the first team at Swansea, making only two appearances for the Swans this spring. The wideman, who mostly plays on the left wing but is adept with both feet, will, however, be trying to make more of an impression at the Valley.
Addicks manager Nathan Jones, who took over for former manager Michael Appleton back in February, let winger Kazenga LuaLua leave the team. Charlton needs a left-sided attacker, and Sagoe Jr. is the ideal candidate.
