Ahead of a summer transfer deal, Wes Foderingham has agreed to personal terms with West Ham, sources have told Football Insider.

The 33-year-old Foderingham will join the Hammers on July 1st, following the expiration of his present contract, rather than signing a contract extension with Sheffield United.

The goalie has agreed to a contract offer from West Ham in advance of moving to the London Stadium on a free transfer.

He will be the second of four early arrivals at the London Stadium after Flamengo center-back Fabricio Bruno, who has also accepted terms ahead of a summer move, already signed a contract.

After arriving to Sheffield United in 2020, Foderingham has played for the club for four years. He will now move on from Bramall Lane to pursue his next professional opportunity.

Wes Foderingham and West Ham negotiate agreements for a sign.
With 79 goals conceded, Foderingham played 31 times for the Blades in the just concluded campaign, which saw them stranded at the bottom of the standings.

Wes Foderingham

Sheffield United achieved just three league victories all season, giving up 106 goals, and he only managed one clean sheet in the Premier League (the other came in the FA Cup).

The goalkeeper is expected to leave West Ham in the Premier League when his contract expires and join the Blades in the Championship.

Alphonse Areola played 33 games, giving up 60 goals and only four Premier League clean sheets, but he cemented his reputation as the starting goalie at the London Stadium.

In contrast, Lukasz Fabianski made 23 appearances in all competitions, starting 23 games, conceding 30 goals and keeping six clean sheets.

Earlier this season, Fabianski consented to an optional contract extension, and Foderingham is expected to follow suit.

Foderingham left Rangers on a free transfer in 2020 and now joins the Blades for the same duration.

In other reports, Nayef Aguerd is expected to receive two official offers in the next several weeks.
