Following disclosure, Wolves may accept a £40 million offer from West Ham.

This summer, West Ham has made Max Kilman a key transfer target in a move that might cost up to £40 million to finalize.

After managing Kilman at Wolves, senior writer Pete O’Rourke said on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that Julen Lopetegui is a big fan of the 27-year-old, but given his price tag, any trade would be difficult to close.

The financial predicament at Molineux, though, could compel Wolves to trade their skipper.

Lopetegui is eager to bolster West Ham’s center-back depth, and many defenders are expected to join the team during the next transfer window.

This occurs following the disclosure by Football Insider that Brazilian defender Fabricio Bruno has reached an agreement to transfer to the London Stadium.

Max Kilman is wanted by West Ham in a £40 million move.
Kilman led his club to an FA Cup quarterfinal and a 14th-place league finish last season, playing in all 44 of Wolves’ Premier League games. Kilman also made appearances in other competitions.

Kilman signed a five-year contract to stay with Wolves until 2028 shortly after he was made captain, which made any attempt to get him to leave this summer more difficult.

Kilman stands out as Lopetegui’s main target at center back, as he is determined to bolster his defense.

Frank McAvennie, a former striker for the Hammers, recently revealed to Football Insider that the incoming manager could want to offload the whole back line at the London Stadium to create room for new players.

Kilman’s entrance will be made possible by Football Insider’s revelation that Kurt Zouma would be instructed to find a new club during the summer.

In other news, Wes Foderingham and West Ham have reached a personal terms agreement.
