STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State men’s basketball program has published the first elements of their 2024-25 non-conference schedule, which will begin with a home-and-home series against Memphis on Saturday, December 21st at FedEx Forum, as announced by both programs on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs and Tigers will face off over the following two seasons, with a return game scheduled for Humphrey Coliseum in 2025-26 on an undetermined date. Tip time and television network assignment for this season’s contest will be announced at a later date.
Memphis has made two NCAA Tournament appearances in the previous three years under seventh-year coach Penny Hardaway. The two programs have faced 25 times on the floor, with the Tigers leading 14-11. The previous encounter took place during the 2021 NIT Finals, with Memphis winning 77-64.
State will host Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday, November 12th, and Prairie View A&M on Sunday, December 8th at Humphrey Coliseum.
The Bulldogs will also return to Cadence Bank Arena in Tupelo for the second consecutive season to face McNeese, a 2024 NCAA Tournament member coming off a 30-4 record and a Southland Conference championship. The Tupelo game is slated for Saturday, December 14th, with ticket information to be announced at a later time.
State is headed by Chris Jans, who has managed the Bulldogs to two 21-win seasons and two NCAA Tournament appearances.
