The Texas Longhorns have made their first participation in the College Football Playoff. What’s scary is that they’re now in the SEC, which will boost their program even further. This, paired with head coach Steve Sarkisian’s recruiting abilities and a number of other variables, positions the Longhorns to become college football’s next dynasty. This post contains my top five reasons why.
Don’t be shocked if the Texas Longhorns become the next college football dynasty. Coming off a 12-2 season in 2023 might be just the beginning in Austin, as the teams migrate to the SEC in 2024. In this post, I’ll discuss my top five reasons why I believe the Longhorns will emerge as college football’s next dynasty.

What does entering the SEC imply for the Texas Longhorns?
The SEC is the finest league in college football. While Texas has generally been one of the top states in the country for high school recruitment, along with California and Florida, they have not benefited from being in what is regarded as the best conference in college football, having been in the Big 12 since 1995.
Joining the SEC now allows athletes from throughout the state and beyond to play for the SEC while still representing the Texas Longhorns.
