Max Lowe, a defender for Sheffield United who is out of contract, is apparently in advanced discussions to be signed by Sheffield Wednesday.
The 27-year-old, who moved from Derby County to South Yorkshire four years ago, has reached the end of his tenure at Bramall Lane. It seems like he could be pulling off an unexpected transfer by joining the Owls across the Sheffield divide.
The Star reports that Wednesday is in negotiations to transport Lowe to Hillsborough, where a medical checkup is scheduled by the end of the week. He would join Wednesday’s roster as a free agent if a contract were to be reached.
Lowe has already bridged a rivalry in his career, having previously played for Derby, Nottingham Forest’s fiercest rival. Lowe joined Nottingham Forest on loan. After graduating from the Rams program, he played youth international football for England.
