Insider Says Jimmy Butler Is Interested in Playing

He would like to sign a contract extension, but there is no indication that the Heat plan to do so.

Jimmy has no desire to play for any other team, despite the fact that many teams would be happy to sign him and offer him the term he wants, according to Shams Charania.

Charania stated that the Heat have not discussed a possible extension with Butler, but they also have no plans to move him, according to his most recent appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” (via Legion Hoops).

Butler is not a young player and has had injury problems the last few seasons.

Despite not having nearly the same quality as other teams, he has nonetheless shown himself to be a natural leader both on and off the court, leading the team to two NBA Finals appearances.

Though Bam Adebayo and coach Erik Spoelstra should also get a lot of credit for that, the truth is that Butler is the team’s leader and they will only succeed to the extent that he can.

Currently, it appears like Pat Riley has the upper hand.

Even though it might not be the best choice to pay a seasoned player who is prone to injuries maximum salary, it doesn’t appear like the Heat will have much chance of winning another championship without Butler.
