Why Analysis Says the Milwaukee Bucks Should Trade for the Underappreciated Top Experienced Young Player on the Golden State Warriors

The Milwaukee Bucks, who have two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo as a non-shooter, require improvement in their outside shooting and defensive play in the backcourt. To enhance their performance in those areas, the front management may consider hiring Moses Moody, the shooting guard for the Golden State Warriors.
Moody has had both challenges and opportunities throughout his time with the Golden State Warriors. He was selected in the first round of the 2021 draft, but he has had difficulty establishing a reliable role on a squad with a ton of depth.

Moody played in 66 games during the previous campaign, averaging 8.1 points, 3 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per contest. The Warriors’ executive management feels that Moody’s growth has been hampered by the team’s depth on the roster, despite his solid shooting percentages.
Moody has showed glimpses of his talent when given the chance, proving he can be a danger to score off the bench. However, Moody has faced an uphill struggle to get playing time due to the presence of more seasoned players such as All-Star guard Klay Thompson.

The Warriors top office must decide on Moody’s position while they assess the team’s future. In order to optimize his on-court experience and growth, he could be better off looking into chances elsewhere if he is unable to land a more significant role in the rotation.

Moses Moody of the Golden State Warriors is a possible trade target for the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Warriors may move Moody in the summer in order to obtain some value if they decide they are not in need of him. Dalton Sell outlined the reasons the Bucks front team need to pursue him in an essay for Behind The Buck Pass.

“Golden State needs to decide on a course after missing the playoffs in 2024. In order to contend for a championship again, the Warriors will need to add talent since Klay Thompson is a free agent. Their intentions are further complicated by their spending, which is a source of concern. Moody may be dealt for win-now assistance if the Dubs want to give their dynasty a few more chances.

Moody could have an effect on both ends of the court, and the Bucks need to improve on the wing. With Milwaukee entering as the third club, Golden State may trade the 22-year-old for win-now assistance. Sell stated, “Some rebuilding clubs would be eager to deal Moody for a first-round choice because they would prefer draft capital.

As of right now, Moody’s remaining contract year is worth about $5.8 million. In addition to that, he is readily adaptable into head coach Doc Rivers’ rotation—particularly in the event that seasoned guard Patrick Beverley is unable to make a comeback to the squad.

Whether the Dubs will make Moody accessible is still up in the air. Should the former be the case, the Bucks might potentially improve if they get him.
