According to reports, Wolves have their sights on a player who might start for Max Kilman for the next two seasons.
The Molineux skipper is still the subject of much speculation, with many Premier League teams reportedly after him right now.
It is said that proposals from West Ham United and Newcastle United were unsuccessful.
Newcastle reportedly offered money plus a player, who was believed to be Elliot Anderson, while West Ham reportedly offered £25 million.
Wolves has resisted offers for the 27-year-old thus far, holding out for almost £45 million.
However, Wolves have identified at least one possible successor since they are aware that they will undoubtedly face more pressure to hang onto the star.
They have been keeping an eye on Nico Elvedi for a while now.
After scouting Nico Elvedi for two seasons, Wolves “clued up” on him.
According to Give Me Sport, Wolves are prepared to reapply for Nico Elvedi, defender for Borussia Monchengladbach, should Kilman decide to quit the team.
The club had targeted the Switzerland international in the summer. Wolves ultimately made the decision to pursue Santi Bueno.
It is rumored that Wolves scouted Elvedi extensively and are “clued up” on the player since they anticipated significant interest in Kilman.
Elvedi’s endurance is cited as one of the factors influencing his consideration.
Kilman participated in every minute of Wolves’ Premier League campaign the previous year.
Elvedi is being connected to Wolves once more, but it appears that the team will likely only pursue him if Kilman does decide to go.
Right now, it appears like he has a good probability of leaving. At least four Premier League teams are interested in the star, and it’s likely that Wolves will ultimately match their asking price.
Gladbach’s season ended in 14th place in the Bundesliga standings, with 67 goals conceded in 34 league games—only Bochum and Darmstadt, the lowest team, allowed more goals.
However, Elvedi’s WhoScored rating placed him as the Gladbach team’s sixth-best player, and his 88% pass completion percentage was rather impressive.
Elvedi would be extremely inexpensive, estimated to cost no more than £8 million.
