Potential Transfer Boost Given To Sheffield Wednesday In Competition For Most Skilled Striker

It’s possible that Sheffield Wednesday has gained an advantage over its rivals in the pursuit of signing a striker.

Sheffield Wednesday, who have already signed three new players, has a number of names on their summer transfer list.

Ben Hamer and Max Lowe, two free agents, have joined the Owls. Right-back Yan Valery has also signed a permanent contract with the team from Angers.

Danny Rohl is off to a good start in his first preseason at Hillsborough, and this summer, a lot more players are anticipated to arrive and depart.

With several attackers being connected, it appears that Rohl will focus on attacking additions after strengthening his defensive third.

Ike Ugbo is wanted by Sheffield Wednesday once more, but the Owls may have to pay a high price to have him back.

After a challenging first season in La Liga, Las Palmas striker Sory Kaba has now been linked to a transfer to Sheffield Wednesday.

Potential advantage for Sheffield Wednesday in the hunt to sign Sory Kaba

In England, Kaba, 28, is most recognized for his loan stint at Cardiff City in the latter part of the 2022–2023 season.

In 17 Championship games, the Guinean striker netted eight goals, propelling the Bluebirds to safety that season.

The previous summer, he secured a transfer to La Liga with Las Palmas. However, Kaba only managed one goal in 17 league games.

Watford and Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly vying for Kaba’s signature this summer.

Additionally, Kaba could have moved closer to the Las Palmas exit door as the Spanish team revealed the acquisition of a new striker.

In the midst of rumors that Kaba would be departing the team this summer, Ivan Cedric has signed a permanent contract to join the team from Valladolid.

Sheffield Wednesday needs to move Sory Kaba right away.

According to his internet highlights, Kaba resembles Ugbo a lot as a striker since he is a very clinical boxer who will get yards even when he is not in control of the ball.

He also appears to be a highly viable substitute for Ugbo, who may consume a large portion of Sheffield Wednesday’s summer transfer budget due to his lower cost.

Dejphon Chansiri, the owner of Sheffield Wednesday, is rumored to be prepared to spend up to £1.5 million this summer on a new striker.

Kaba may have cost even less than £1.5 million because he is now further lower on the team’s priority list and was signed by Las Palmas for an alleged £1.7 million last summer.

With Cedric’s arrival to Las Palmas, the competition for his signature can get hotter shortly. Thus, Sheffield Wednesday has to maintain their strong start in the transfer window and clinch a deal for either Ugbo or Kaba.

On a free transfer, Cameron Dawson left Sheffield Wednesday to join Rotherham United.

After 129 games and 47 clean sheets for the Owls, 28-year-old Cameron Dawson is a free agent and is leaving his hometown side, Sheffield Wednesday.

The former England U18 and England U19 player joined the Owls’ main squad in the 2016–17 campaign, making 18 appearances in the Championship.

Before James Beadle replaced Dawson in the starting lineup, Dawson maintained four clean sheets in the first half of the season.

Dawson was given conditions by the club to extend his contract past its expiration this summer. However, Dawson has already agreed to a two-year contract with Rotherham United, the South Yorkshire rivals.

Under Steve Evans, the Millers have signed ten players so far during the summer transfer season, including Reece James, a Sheffield Wednesday player who was also released.
