Chairman of Bradford City Stefan Rupp discusses his new strategy for controlling the League Two team.

Stefan Rupp says he is certain the present owner is prepared to sell, and he has started negotiations with Gordon Gibb to purchase Valley Parade for Bradford City.
The ground has been home to the Bantams since its founding in 1903; however, it was sold to Gibb’s pension fund, a co-owner at the time, when the team entered insolvency in 2002.

Rupp wants it back. After that, he wants to make sure the League Two team has a training facility of their own.

Chairman and owner Rupp stated, “I can honestly say I want to buy the stadium.” Rupp plans to take on a more active benefactor role starting in the upcoming season.

“We’ve already begun preliminary discussions with the owner, and we’ll monitor the situation over the next months.

The Bantams’ spiritual home, Valley Parade, is also a component of our long-term plan for the club to own it and be far more adaptable in many ways.

“The money is there, and there is a strong desire to purchase it.

“I believe the owner is open to selling it.

At this point, I don’t want to get into too much detail. All I can say is that we have begun preliminary discussions.

“In the coming month, we’ll have much more in-depth conversations about this, after which we’ll see.”

“Most other football teams have their own training site and stadium if you look at them.

“It’s crucial in my opinion that we can bring people together who need to come together. This is the next major undertaking.
