Breaking: Following the first round of the NBA Draft, Kyle Filipowski has sent a two-word message to his coach.

How should Ohio State men’s basketball spend its last available scholarship? You’re Nuts.

After adding sophomore forward and former Duke Blue Devil Sean Stewart to its 2024–2025 roster more than a month ago, it seemed as though Ohio State men’s basketball was done adding players with significant influence. Rumor had it that international post player Jake Diebler, the team’s first-year head coach, was trying to bring someone on as a project or “developmental” player who wouldn’t have been expected to play a major role this season. Although the squad is currently practicing on campus, a foreign player would not be able to join the program until August when school resume.

That was the idea, at least, until Taison Chatman, a sophomore guard, recently sustained a knee injury that ended his season. Although Adam Jardy of the Columbus Dispatch claimed that he had a ruptured left ACL, the club has not acknowledged the nature of the injury or when it occurred. According to Jake Diebler, Chatman had a successful, uneventful operation this week, and he should be fully recovered by next summer.

How does Ohio State utilize its last scholarship in the meantime, taking this development into consideration?

Connor and Justin discussed last week’s greatest game versus the Buckeyes since 2010. Connor chose Brandon Paul, who scored forty-three points for Illinois in 2012. In the 2021 NCAA Tournament, Justin selected Kevin O’Banor’s record-setting effort for the 15-seeded Oral Roberts, which included 30 points and 11 rebounds. 66% of readers agreed with Justin; obviously, PTSD from that game still affects individuals.
