Breaking: Four-Star wide receiver announces shocking departure from Georgia Bulldogs and chooses FSU football instead

Over the in-state Bulldogs, the Seminoles triumph on the recruitment path.

Every now and again, a pleasant surprise on the recruiting path is appreciated, particularly as Florida State’s 2025 class gains traction throughout the summer.

Four-star wide receiver CJ Wiley made his choice between Florida State, Georgia, and LSU known on Tuesday afternoon. Wiley surprised everyone in June by deciding on the Seminoles over the in-state Bulldogs after considering his alternatives. In just two days, he is the program’s second pledge.

Florida State, who hosted Wiley on an official visit over the weekend, received the final opportunity to confront him, so this is a pleasant surprise. He’s the first wide receiver to officially join #Tribe25, showing off his strength in opposition to Kirby Smart under head coach Mike Norvell.

Wiley just had a successful junior year at Milton High School, where he caught 68 passes for 1,473 yards and 14 touchdowns. After defeating Walton High School 13-2, the squad won the Georgia 7A State Championship.

According to 247Sports, the 6-foot-4, 195-pound wide receiver is rated as the No. 136 overall prospect, the No. 15 wide receiver, and the No. 19 recruit in Georgia for the 2025 class.

Three-star Joshua Moore, four-star Vernell Brown, four-star Daylan McCutcheon, four-star Malik Clark, four-star Dallas Wilson (Oregon), and five-star Kaliq Lockett are some more wide receivers in the class to be aware of.

To start the week, top-100 defensive lineman Kevin Wynn committed to the Seminoles as well. They have six pledges in #Tribe25, which is now ranked 63rd in the nation and will continue to grow.
