Everton is now a strong contender to sign Broja from Chelsea.

According to sources, Everton is “strong contender” to acquire Chelsea attacker Armando Broja this summer.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, a midfielder for Leicester City, is set to join Chelsea for a reported £30 million. Chelsea has been among the busier teams throughout the first few weeks of the transfer season. Broja is one of the players most likely to go, but they still want to make money this summer through player sales.

The ‘perfect forward’ (according to Jacek Kulig) Broja signed a long-term contract in 2022 to stay at Stamford Bridge until 2027, but he hasn’t been able to settle into a starting role at Chelsea. He was on loan at Fulham for the second part of the last campaign, and the club is probably going to unload him this summer along with some other marginal players

Chelsea striker Armando Broja

Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian claims that Chelsea wants to sell Broja in order to earn money. Although several teams are vying for the Albanian forward, Everton is considered a serious possibility.

Before making his debut in the main squad two years ago, Broja, who might cost the Toffees up to £35 million, was a young player at Chelsea and had stints on loan at Vitesse and Southampton. The attacker was sent on loan last season because, despite Chelsea’s lack of a competent and consistent striker, he hasn’t been able to secure a starting spot over players like Nicolas Jackson.

Conversely, Everton is looking to improve on their exciting season from the previous year. Sean Dyche’s team managed to avoid relegation for a third straight season despite losing two points, despite spending a significant portion of the season in the drop zone.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is now Everton’s first-choice striker, however the club does have other options in the forward positions. A year ago, the Toffees added Portuguese sensation Beto to their roster in an attempt to bolster that section of the field even further. But with the present uncertainty surrounding Calvert-Lewin’s future on Merseyside, it appears Everton is planning for every scenario this summer, as seen by their reported interest in Broja. Based on Fabrizio Romano’s report, the Toffees are almost certain to sign versatile attacker Iliman Ndiaye.
