USC Trojans and Lincoln Riley Get a Major Commitment From 2025 Offensive Weapon
Several notable pledges to other schools or the reopening of their recruitment process have dealt a blow to the USC Trojans recruiting class in June. Luckily for Lincoln Riley, Sunday brought a new member to the Trojans recruiting class.
Following two significant weekends in which elite prospects who were under USC’s radar made visits, Sunday brought what the Trojans hope would be the first of many fresh pledges. It also happened to arrive at a position that, given its interests, USC appeared to be aiming toward.
Christian Brothers wide receiver Corey Simms declared his commitment to the Trojans on Sunday afternoon. For the Missourian, USC defeated Missouri, Penn State, Tennessee, and Nebraska in their matchup.

Out of the twelve Trojans committed for the 2025 cycle, Simms is just the second wide receiver. He is one of just five offensive skill players, with the bulk of Trojans pledges playing defense. The other offensive skill player is 5-foot-10 wide receiver Romero Ison (Baltimore City College).
Even though Simms made his last trips to Nebraska on June 14 and Missouri on June 21, following his formal visit to USC on June 7, the Trojans were still able to win his commitment. One of the final Power 4 institutions to give him a scholarship was Riley and the Trojans coaching staff in February.
