Top247 Wide Receiver Is Scheduled To Make A New Commitment On 247Sports.

Wide receiver Kelshaun Johnson of Hitchcock (Texas) will declare his commitment on July 8 at 4:15 p.m. Central. The Top247 talent will select Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, USC, and Arkansas.

The announcement will be made live on the 247Sports YouTube channel.

With 90% of choices on the Aggies, Texas A&M now leads in the 247Sports Crystal Ball standings.

Johnson emerged as a sophomore on the recruiting trail. Johnson witnessed an explosion in his recruiting profile after a stellar junior season, garnering nearly 25 offers. Following formal visits to Texas, Texas A&M, and Arkansas, Johnson felt he had to select a choice.

According to 247Sports, the 5-foot-11, 160-pound prospect is ranked as the No. 20 wide receiver in the country and the No. 27 prospect overall in Texas. Johnson, a three-sport athlete who also participates in track & field and basketball, was a member of Hitchcock’s basketball team that won two consecutive state titles. He stated to 247Sports that he is searching for the university that would best make use of his skills.

“I’m really looking at how they are going to use me,” he stated. “Will I be inside or outdoors when I sit down with all these coaches and stuff? How can they make me vulnerable?”

According to the 247Sports Scouting Report, Johnson is an electrifying playmaker with explosive skills on offense and special teams who has the potential to be a game-changer at the next level.
