The West Brom player who “agreed” to the move now sets Luton Town
It appears that a midfield player who “agreed” to join West Brom will be leaving Nottingham Forest.
Lewis O’Brien, a midfielder for Nottingham Forest, is apparently attracting significant attention from a number of Premier League and Championship teams.
In the upcoming weeks, the 25-year-old is anticipated to leave the City Ground as Forest looks to reduce its player roster. O’Brien signed for £8 million from Huddersfield Town, however he has only made 15 appearances for Forest in all competitions.
O’Brien was once set to sign a loan with West Bromwich Albion in January 2023, but the agreement fell through at the last minute. Instead, the midfielder moved to DC United in March of that year, where he had a brief stint playing 19 games.
A new development involving O’Brien’s near future is that, according to Nottinghamshire Live, the following teams are interested in signing him this summer: Norwich City, Sheffield United, Luton Town, Preston North End, and Ipswich Town.
It is said that Forest is receptive to proposals, particularly those including a long-term sale. Ipswich, who were just promoted to the Premier League, would be the most alluring transfer away, but no offers have been made.
O’Brien, meanwhile, would fit in well with Sheffield United, since the Blades are hoping to bring in Oliver Norwood as they make a comeback to the Championship. Another side demoted from the top division, Luton, may be an alternative for O’Brien.
