Breaking: Talk about the Miami Heat trades two more stars this week.
The summer is in full swing, and with it the overshadowing presence of everyday trade speculations regarding the Miami Heat. Only a few days after NBA free agency opened, trade negotiations are threatening the Miami Heat. As the team looks to bolster its squad, the Heat are anticipated to make changes this summer.
Miami looks to be testing the waters with a couple of important players, as Bam Adebayo is set to sign a contract extension and Jimmy Butler enters his last year without one. For the Heat, the summer has been comparatively calm thus far. Other than adding Alec Burks, bringing Thomas Bryant back on a cheap contract, and agreeing to a new two-year deal with Kevin Love, not much has happened. DeMar DeRozan of Chicago and Brandon Ingram, who played for the Pelicans for the previous four seasons, have been connected to the Heat lately.
Conversation about the Miami Heat is still centered around two more stars.
DeMar DeRozan
Without a doubt, DeRozan is the finest of the top free agents still available. The six-time All-Star’s final season as a Bull is all but certain to have occurred. Given Miami’s current cap predicament, a sign-and-trade scenario is most likely how the Heat will get DeRozan if they are serious about doing so.
Miami is over the first tax anniversary, therefore they don’t have much cap space, thus chasing DeRozan might not be feasible. That is, unless Pat Riley has some sort of expertise of dialing and entering numbers. If Miami is successful in acquiring DeRozan, then the team will have all the offensive depth it needs.
Brandon Ingram
Talk about Ingram in the Miami trade market has increased, but not as much as it did with DeRozan. Miami ought to consider landing Ingram right away. Only a few days have passed since the trade speculations involving Ingram surfaced. The NBA writer Marc Stein reports that the league sources claim the New Orleans Pelicans are seriously considering trading for Ingram since the talks about an extension between the two teams are not going well.
Tyler Herro Would Probably Leave Through A Miami Trade
Tyler Herro will almost probably be included in any deal involving a Miami Heat player who is considered an All-Star. Herro is a skilled player and among Miami’s greatest three-point shooters, if not the best overall. He is no stranger to trade discussions. Herro, though, would be a wise trade-off for a player with Ingram or DeRozan’s skill and ability. The Heat need offensive talent and production badly in order to improve for the upcoming season and compete well into the postseason. Miami has to look for these essential assets.
Fans of the Miami Heat would be happy to see Brandon Ingram or DeMar DeRozan join the team if a star trade worked out. Either player’s inclusion in a trade would boost Miami’s chances of winning the East and, ultimately, a better seed when the playoffs roll around.
