Texas Longhorns Just Revealed Major Boost: The Texas Longhorns have just reached a deal to sign a big five-star contract with

Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning gets a lot of attention for someone who hasn’t really played on the field.

That’s largely because of the name on the back of his burnt orange shirt. Given that the 19-year-old’s family tree includes Super Bowl-winning uncles Peyton and Eli Manning, it both merits harsh criticism and unjustified attention.

The backup quarterback for the Longhorns has already drawn flak for declining to play in the forthcoming College Football 25 video game. The young signal-caller’s dedication to the University of Texas despite the transfer portal period may be the thing that has confused people the most about him.

Speaking with The Athletic’s Larry Holder while at the Manning Passing Academy, an annual football clinic founded by his family, Manning gave an explanation of why he plans to stay with the Longhorns even if Quinn Ewers will be back in 2024

Manning remarked, “It’s hard because you want to be playing outside with your boys.” But ultimately, it came down to the realization that playing at Texas was my goal and there was nowhere else I wanted to be. I’m going to persevere and finally play there.

This coming season, Manning will be a true sophomore. He has played in two games and completed two out of five passes for thirty yards.

Longhorns starting quarterback Austin Ewers stated, “I think his actions definitely go to show that the kid’s got some patience, for sure.” “It’s difficult, I know that because I experienced how difficult it is to sit behind someone when I attended Ohio State.”

Following the 2021 season, Ewers moved from Ohio State to Texas, where he has played a significant role in the program’s comeback under head coach Steve Sarkisian.

Ewers has completed 22 games with 5,656 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions since moving to Austin. Given his history of injuries, many are interested in knowing if Manning will get more playing time this season in the event that his ailments recur.
