Following his Wimbledon semifinal triumph over Lorenzo Musetti, Novak Djokovic was jeered once more.

Four days after making an outraged statement on the court, Novak Djokovic easily defeated Lorenzo Musetti on Friday to go to the Wimbledon 2024 final. However, as he celebrated the win, he was uncomfortably jeered once again.

The seven-time Wimbledon victor Djokovic, who finished second to Carlos Alcaraz in the previous tournament, yelled at the Centre Court audience after his last-16 match, accusing them of showing “disrespect,” just before he was handed a walkover on Wednesday.

That was on Monday when Djokovic overcame Holger Rune 6-4 7-6 (7-2) 6-4 to advance to the All England Club and resume his quest for an unprecedented 25th Grand Slam singles crown. This time, there were louder jeers.

After gaining match point, Djokovic paid homage to his daughter by playing his tennis racket like a violin. This caused the fans to yell loudly and angrily, believing they were being provoked, which led to a lot of misunderstanding in the commentary box.

Why are individuals jeering? stated John McEnroe on BBC. “I’m clueless,” Nick Kyrgios continued. “Because they believe he is mocking them.” He’s not, though. Or does he? stated Andrew Castle. “No, he isn’t,” Kyrgios answered. McEnroe said, “Even if he was, he would deserve [to do] it.”

In his on-court interview, Djokovic chose to win over fans by talking about his intense passion for Wimbledon and some of the challenges he faced as a youngster growing up in a war-torn nation, choosing not to bring up the boos in the process.

“I’ve said it numerous times.” I’ve wanted to play and win Wimbledon since I was a young boy, Djokovic remarked. It’s crucial to remember that when I was seven years old, I saw bombs go over my head and dreamed of playing on Wimbledon, the most prestigious court in the world.

“I was building Wimbledon trophies with everything in the room!” It has been an amazing experience, and I have the amazing support of my family, including my children and my wife, who have been with me for many years.
