As the Serb is humiliated by Carlos Alcaraz in Sunday’s Wimbledon final, Novak Djokovic makes his sentiments about retiring apparent. With the chance to exact revenge for the five sets he lost to the Spaniard in the previous year, the Serbian strolled onto Centre Court only to lose 6-2 6-2 7-6 (7-4).
Throughout the match, the 37-year-old was only able to break the serve once, and it was in the third set after Alcaraz had created three Championship points, leading 5–4.
However, the defiance proved fleeting as the 21-year-old raised the stakes even higher when it counted most to win his fourth Grand Slam title. He had rallied from the edge to force a tie-break.

When questioned about his remarks spoken over the microphone on the court, Djokovic congratulated his family and coaching staff, stating, “I love you guys, let’s keep going.” Additionally, he has publicly acknowledged that he plans to compete in the SW19 event in 2025.
Regarding returning here, he expressed his desire to do so. “At this moment, I’m just thinking about the fact that this is my final Wimbledon. I truly want to play anything at all. I don’t think in terms of restrictions. As long as I believe I can play at this high level, I still want to continue playing.
