Duke Basketball Star Makes a Statement in Summer League
Kyle Filipowski, Duke’s two-year top scorer, is now showing the Utah Jazz more of what he can do on the court.

Duke Blue Devils’ most experienced star now confirms he wants to part ways and makes a statement in the Summer League.

All of a sudden, it appears like Utah Jazz rookie forward Kyle Filipowski, who slipped to the NBA Draft’s second round at No. 32 overall despite his All-American Duke basketball sophomore season, is getting into high gear in the NBA 2K25 Summer League in Las Vegas.

It took the 7-footer a few games to find his feet in an NBA uniform, particularly during Utah’s Summer League tune-up in Salt Lake City last week. However, he was particularly productive and efficient in an 86-76 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.

Filipowski, the first to commit to Jon Scheyer as a head coach and eventual team leader in points and rebounds during the first two seasons of the powerhouse program’s post-Mike Krzyzewski era, finally posted a stat line for the Jazz that resembled his Blue Devils numbers.

Building on his 13-point, five-rebound effort in Monday’s 82-70 defeat to the Sacramento Kings, the 20-year-old had 20 points and seven rebounds against the Raptors, as well as a pair of assists, a game-high three steals, and one block. He went 9-for-16 from the field, 2-for-3 from deep, and 0-1 from the foul line.

Kyle Filipowski and the Utah Jazz (2-1) will face one of just three 3-0 teams at this point, the Los Angeles Clippers. That game begins at 10 p.m. ET Thursday (NBA TV).
