Micah Parsons reflects about his future with Dallas and the contract predicament.
Following Day 2 of training camp, Dallas Cowboys standout Micah Parsons addressed to the media about his future with the team and current contract negotiations.

Micah Parsons is one of three Dallas Cowboys studs who are expected to make a lot of money. Parsons is not in his contract year, but he is confident he will want a blockbuster time when it comes time to sign.

However, while others have prioritized contract discussions, Parsons is focused on the present.

The star edge rusher addressed the media during Day 2 of training camp in Oxnard, discussing his contract predicament and future in Dallas.

Parsons wants to keep the star on his helmet.

“I believe having a successful career and retiring with the Star is the best way to leave a lasting legacy. I want to live here my entire life. I intend to construct a house here and remain in Dallas indefinitely. I adore the city. “I love the community,” Parsons told reporters.

“…The contract stuff will take care of itself, but winning games is what I have to care of.”

That must be great news for Cowboys supporters.

Jul 26, 2024; Oxnard, CA, USA; Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons (11) signs autographs during training camp at the River Ridge Playing Fields in Oxnard, Californian.

Of course, Jerry and Stephen Jones will have to do their bit to keep Parsons in Dallas for the long term.

The 25-year-old former NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year has made the Pro Bowl and earned All-Pro honors in each of his first three seasons in the league.

Last season, Parsons made 64 total tackles, 18 for a loss, 33 quarterback hits, and a career-high 14 sacks. He comes into his fourth year with 213 tackles, 40.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and one interception.

Parsons is unquestionably a franchise cornerstone, and making him a priority is something every front office should do. Let’s hope the Joneses do their part.
